It’s December first and that means the beginning of our countdown to Christmas, the best day of the year! We have gotten out our many advent calendars, including a new one this year. I found a puzzle calendar where you build a mini puzzle each day. The images are gorgeous and then 50 pieces is the perfect size for a daily puzzle.
This year we put a tree in our homeschool room that the kids are decorating themselves. We also hung up our Small World Calendar which is from my childhood. Each day teaches about how Christmas is celebrated in another country.
Today is December first and our first “child” is from Norway. This is what she teaches us: “At Christmas time, Norwegian children dress up in costumes and go from house to house asking for treats much as American children do for Halloween.”
Come back tomorrow to meet the next child and learn about Christmas in their country!
